Music education has always been cherished and promoted at Fieldstone. We believe that a strong education in Music sets our students up for success not only in arts and culture, but also in life.
Last Friday, Vocal Music classes traveled to the Four Seasons Performing Centre of the Arts to watch a world-class production of “Rigoletto” by Giuseppe Verdi. Students participated in an afternoon workshop where they had the opportunity to hear an opera singer perform, tour the house and stage, and explore the art form of opera.
Students were thrilled by this unique opportunity. One student recalled “We learned about musicology and how opera affects society.” Another commented “I was shocked by the singers’ voices. They were so pure and beautiful.” Students appreciated not only the music but also the sets and lighting involved in the breathtaking production.
