On March 29th, Drama, English, and Communications Technology students traveled to the CBC Building in downtown Toronto to be part of a live taping of the TV show “The Goods.” This daytime TV show focuses on lifestyle choices, and the particular episode was centred on sustainability and environmentally-friendly living.
Our students had the opportunity to see all aspects of live TV, including filming, behind-the-scenes roles, and the interaction between audience, presenters, and guests. This experience helped to enhance their media literacy and gave them a unique window into the Canadian media landscape.
Fieldtrips like this one help us to be one of Toronto’s best private high schools. We are always looking for ways to broaden our students’ horizons and allow them to apply their understandings of curriculum concepts both within and beyond the Fieldstone campus.
